History

Fairford Preservation Trust was set up by Dr Charlton Shaw in 1965. A need was seen to preserve the old buildings and promote the sympathetic design of new ones and also to preserve the structure and life of the town. FPT seeks to stimulate public interest in the care for the beauty, history and the character of the area and its surroundings.

FPT keeps a watching brief on local planning applications, footpaths, trees and the local amenities in the area.

The Committee of ten meets regularly throughout the year.
